Why Piano Moving in Vancouver Requires a Specialist Crew
A piano is one of the most difficult items to move safely. An upright piano can weigh 200 to 500 kilograms. A grand piano involves leg removal, full protective wrapping, a specialized piano board, and careful navigation through doorways, staircases, and hallways. Handle it without proper training and equipment and you risk serious damage to the instrument, your property, and the people involved.
Gentle Moving LTD approaches every piano move in Vancouver with the right crew, the right equipment, and a clear plan for your specific instrument and your specific building. We assess the staircase dimensions, doorway widths, and elevator access at your property before we arrive so nothing is improvised on the day.

Yes. We move upright pianos up and down staircases across Vancouver using piano boards, heavy-duty straps, and proper lifting technique. We assess the staircase dimensions and weight of the instrument before moving day.
Do you move grand pianos in Vancouver?

How much does it cost to move a piano in Vancouver?
Piano moving costs in Vancouver depend on the type of piano, the distance to the new address, and the access conditions at both properties, including staircases, elevators, and doorways. We provide a clear written estimate after reviewing these details.
Do you move pianos to or from storage in Vancouver?
Yes. We move pianos into and out of storage facilities across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. The instrument is properly wrapped and protected throughout the process.
How do you protect a piano during a move in Vancouver?
The piano body is wrapped in heavy-duty moving blankets and secured with padded straps. Legs, pedals, and the lid are removed where appropriate and wrapped separately. The instrument is loaded onto a piano dolly and transported in a way that minimizes vibration and movement.
Can you move a piano within my home or building in Vancouver?
Yes. We handle within-property piano moves, including repositioning a piano within a room, moving it between floors, or relocating it to a different unit in the same building.
